BlackBerry Enterprise Server Configuration
To ensure that the Lexi-Comp BlackBerry software will work when connecting through a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES), the BES admin will need to first make sure that MDS (mobile data service) has been enable on the server and for the users. Lexi-Comp’s BlackBerry software will use this connection to access our Mobile service. Next, the admin should ensure that http://mobile.lexi.com can be reached. Since the BES is typically behind the corporate firewall, exceptions may need to be set. Depending on the firewall configuration the admin will need to allow access to http://mobile.lexi.com and/or Lexi-Comp’s IP range: 12.168.75.1 - 12.168.75.63 Once these adjustments have been made, it is important to check the Flow Control settings to make sure the maximum connection speed is set to 256Kbps or higher. This is done directly on the BES and will ensure that the data from Lexi-Comp can reach the BlackBerry device. When the last of the settings are complete, please ping “mobile.lexi.com” from the BES. If the ping is successful, the BlackBerry users should not have a problem with downloading, installing, and accessing the Lexi-Comp software.
