BlackBerry Connection Errors
The "No Route to Sever" and "Contacting Server - 0%" messages can be an indication that the BlackBerry is not able to establish a connection with the Leix-Comp Mobile server. Make sure you are in an area with a strong wireless signal (3-5 bars) when accessing the software. The handheld also needs a BlackBerry Internet Service connection in order to access data through the wireless network. If you have not had your data account setup, please contact your wireless provider.
Once everything has been setup properly, you should not have any problems with access the application. If you still receive the above error messages, please follow the steps below to choose a different connection method for your handheld.
- Click "OK" to make the message box disappear.
- Press the click-wheel once and select Options.
- Click Network Options to display the current and available connection types.
- Look to the bottom of the screen to determine the current connection, this will help you determine which of the connections to disable.
- Placing a check mark next to MDS will force the device to skip this connection and use BIS the next time the application is opened.
- Placing a check mark next to BIS will force the device to skip this connection and use MDS the next time the application is opened.
- Placing a check mark next to both MDS and BIS will force the device to use a TCP/IP connection (this must be provisionsed by the wireless provider first).
- Once everything has been configured, press the escape and save the changes. Then, close and reopen the application and the new connection will be made.
