Lexi-CALC For Pocket PC Assistance
Problem: The Lexi-CALC for Pocket PC programs loads a blank page but no calculations are listed.
Solution: The reason for this is that the Lexi-CALC reader has been loaded on to your Pocket PC, but the Calculations module has not yet been installed. To load the Calculations module, please follow the instructions below:
- Please close any instances of Lexi-CONNECT that you have running
- Visit http://connect.lexi.com and click on the "Download Now" button to ensure you are using the most recent version of Lexi-CONNECT
- Lexi-CONNECT should launch and prompt you to sign in
- Ensure that the Lexi-CALC for is checked
- Click on Tools-->Reinstall Readers
- You will be prompted to reinstall the Lexi-CALC reader file and after a moment should be prompted to install the Calculations module
- If you are not prompted to install the Calculations, please disconnect and reconnect your device, they synchronization should occur 30-60 seconds later
If this fails to install your Lexi-CALC, then you can install the product manually by going to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Lexi Connect\wince\HHCALCU0000CE. Located within this folder you will find a program called Lexi-CALC Calculations.msi. Double click on this application and you should be prompted to install the Calculations module directly to your Pocket PC.
Problem: Every time I synchronize my Pocket PC, Lexi-CALC Step Two begins to install and gives me an error message.
Solution: This is caused by disconnecting the device while the sync is attempting to go through. To fix this, please close out of Lexi-CONNECT before you disconnect the device. After Lexi-CONNECT is closed, then disconnect the device and this problem should not occur.
Problem: When attempting to install Lexi-CALC I receive an error message stating: "Incorrect command line parameters Windows Installer. V 2.00.2600.1106 Copyright c 2000 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Portions of this software are based in part on the work of the independent JPEG Group"
Solution: Simply click "OK" to this message and you should be able to continue with the installation of Lexi-CALC normally. This is a default message from Microsoft indicating that you need to update your Windows Installer, though this is not necessary to install Lexi-CALC.
Problem: When tapping on the Lexi-CALC icon, I am given an unexpected error and the program quits working.
Solution: This problem is typically caused when the program is installed on a memory card with a slow read/write speed. First, please soft reset the device and then launch the Lexi-Comp Reader first, then attempt to launch Lexi-CALC. If that does not work, please follow the steps outlined below to reinstall the program on the internal memory of your PDA.
**Lexi-CALC takes up less than 1 MB of space when installed.
Remove from PDA:
1. After performing a soft reset on your PDA, please tap on START>SETTINGS>SYSTEM.
2. Find Remove Programs/Applications in the list and tap once on the icon.
3. Scroll through your list of installed programs until you find Lexi-CALC.
4. Tap each listing, one at a time, and then select remove.
Reinstall Lexi-CALC:
- Please close any instances of Lexi-CONNECT that you have running
- Visit http://connect.lexi.com and click on the "Download Now" button to ensure you are using the most recent version of Lexi-CONNECT
- Lexi-CONNECT should launch and prompt you to sign in
- Ensure that the Lexi-CALC for is checked
- Click on Tools-->Reinstall Readers
- You will be prompted to reinstall the Lexi-CALC reader file and after a moment should be prompted to install the Calculations module
