Lexi-Comp provided memory card for Pocket PC device

The instructions below will step you through how to transfer the reader files to your Start Menu. This will allow the programs to run correctly from your device. These instructions should only be followed if you purchased a memory card from a Lexi-Comp representative at a trade show or convention.

Steps to get readers into the Program Menu

1. Tap on the Start Menu
2. Tap upon Programs
3. Tap upon File Explorer
4. Under the File Explorer program heading, tap upon the drop down arrow so that you are at ‘My Device’
5. Within ‘My Device’ tap upon SD Card.
6. You will then see three folders (a Lexi-Comp Reader, a Lexi-Comp Lexi-Interact Reader, aand a Lexi-Comp Analyze folder – they will be shortened in length).
7. Tap on each folder. Within the folder will be the LexiCompReader, LexiCompAnalyze, or LexiCompInteract icon. Tap and hold down the stylus on each icon (you have to do each icon one at a time). A circle of red dots will appear and a menu will then appear.
8. Tap on copy.
9. You will then tap on the drop down arrow (as you did in step 5) and select ‘My Device’ again.
10. Then tap upon the Windows folder
11. Within the Windows folder tap upon the Start Menu folder
12. Then tap within the Programs folder
13. Find a blank white area at the bottom of the listing and tap down on the screen until the red circle of dots appear.
14. Then select Paste
15. Repeat steps above for the next reader

Steps to get readers to start menu for PPC 2003 OS users

1. You must follow steps 1) through 15) above
2. After doing above steps, tap on Start Menu
3. Tap upon Settings
4. Tap upon Menus
5. You must uncheck some of the choices already checked and check off Lexi-Comp Interact and Lexi-Comp Reader as only 10 items are allowed in the Start Menu. Once you are finished, just click OK or the X in the top right of the screen.

IMPORTANT: Perform a Soft Reset on the device by pushing in the RESET button on the side/back/bottom of the device with the stylus. Then go into the icons to make sure the programs appear and function correctly.

When performing updates, you will want to install Lexi-Connect. This will simplify the download and updating process for you. Lexi-Connect will be configured appropriately to overwrite the existing files on your device. The first time you install updates through Lexi-Connect you will be prompted to install the Lexi-Comp Reader and Lexi-Comp Interact reader files. You will select Install when this prompt appears and then choose NO for installing to the default application directory. A drop down will then be available to which you will choose the SD card. You can then proceed with your install. Once your install is completed the first time, you will have duplicate reader icons appear on either your Start Menu or Programs icon listing if you are using a Pocket PC 2003 or later operating system. To remove these duplicate icons, please refer to Multiple reader icons on my Start Menu or Program Tabs.
