Lexi-Comp provided memory card for Palm OS devices
The instructions below will step you through how to transfer the reader files to your internal memory. This will allow the programs to run correctly from your device. These instructions should only be followed if you purchased a memory card from a Lexi-Comp representative at a trade show or convention.
Steps to get readers into internal memory
- Tap upon the device's tools/menu icon and then choose COPY
- Tap on the drop down menu to copy to Internal from Card or Memory Card
- On some devices you will need to tap on Settings and check the box for showing applications only to make the readers appear
- Locate Lexi-Comp and Interact (only the files around 80KBs) and then tap copy (have to do this one at a time)
- The files will then copy over to the internal memory.
- You will then tap on the home icon (above the tools/menu icon) to go back to the main listing of icons
Steps to remove extra readers from memory card
It is critically important to remove the readers you just copied to the internal memory from the memory card.
- Tap on the tools/menu icon as you did in step 1) in the section above
- From the menu choose DELETE
- Tap on the drop down menu and change it to the Memory Card (make sure it is on the memory card side – you should know because all the Lexi-Comp database files will be listed)
- Locate Lexi-Comp and Interact (only the files around 80KBs) and then tap upon Delete. If you Delete anything else from this screen then you will lose databases - so please be careful to only delete the smaller sized readers.
- Once you remove both readers, you can then tap on the home icon and then access the programs as normal.
In the future - you will never need to perform these steps. You can use Lexi-Connect to perform updates to these databases with the default settings and everything will update correctly.
