Palm OS reinstallation and download instructions

Reinstalling via Lexi-CONNECT

To reinstall your software using Lexi-CONNECT, please first make sure you have already installed the Palm Desktop software on your computer. Then, visit http://connect.lexi.com and download the latest version of Lexi-CONNECT to your computer. Next, follow the steps below to reinstall your software.

Note: If you have recently purchased a new PDA or if you are reinstalling your software to a device that has recently been hard or factory reset, please contact Technical Support prior to installing the software. They will need to make an adjustment to your account before you will be able to obtain new license keys for your device. To contact support, please click here and login to your account. Then, click on the "Contact Support" link and submit your inquiry.

Verify HotSync Username:

1. From your PDA's main screen, tap on the HotSync icon but do not sync.
2. A username should be displayed in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Note the username that is listed.

Select HotSync Username and Reinstall:

1. Connect your PDA to your computer and login to Lexi-Connect.
2. Place check marks next to your databases you wish to install.

3. Click on TOOLS>REINSTALL READERS, select the appropriate HotSync username and click OK.
4. Once the readers have been downloaded, please click DOWNLOAD NOW to download any available updates.
5. After all of the downloads are complete, please perform TWO consecutive HotSyncs.
6. When the second sync is complete, your software should be installed, registered and ready to use.

Manual Download:

To manually download and reinstall your software please follow the steps outlined below:

1. Go to http://www.lexi.com/downloads and log in.
2. Click on the link to "Proceed to Manual Download Page."
3. Place a check mark next to all the databases you wish to reinstall.
   1. There are 4 different views of Lexi-Drugs. Please select only 1 to install on your PDA.
4. Once you have select all of the files you wish to install, please click "Continue."
5. On this page you will need to download each reader and database. Click the "Download Now" button and then save the file on your computer.
6. Once all of the files have been downloaded, we will need to install each of them on your PDA.
   1. Install the readers first. Depending on what you have selected to download you will have up to four to install: lexicompreader.prc, lexicompinteract.prc, lexicompanalyze.prc, lexicalc.prc.
   2. Double-click each of these files to add them to your Install or Quick Install tool. They should be set to install on the Device, Internal, or Handheld memory.
   3. Next, double-click on each database. This will also add them to the Install or Quick Install tool. If you have a memory card and wish to utilize it for your software, please set the .PDB files to install directly to the storage card.
7. After all of the files have been added, please close your Install or Quick Install window and then HotSync your PDA.

When the sync is complete on your device, your software should be installed on your PDA. If you are asked on your PDA to enter a license key, please click here to view your current licensing information.
