With the Lexi-Comp programs already installed, simply launch Lexi-Connect on the computer through the Lexi-Connect icon. Download new updates and sync the first device. For all subsequent devices, simply sync the device and the updates will be transferred onto each device.

Lexi-Connect now provides for automated license key maintenance so you do not have to worry about recording license keys or entering license keys into your device when your subscriptions are renewed!

When Lexi-Comp is not currently loaded (e.g. initial installation or re-installation) on the devices:

The key to having the programs sync onto multiple devices is the existence of the readers. The readers make the icons on the handheld device appear. Lexi-Comp uses three (3) readers – one for Lexi-Interact named LexiCompInteract.prc (Palm OS) and LexiCompInteractCEReader.exe (Pocket PC), one for Lexi-Calc (LexiCalc.prc forPalm OS only) and one for all the remaining Lexi-Comp programs named LexiCompReader.prc (Palm OS) and LexiCompReader.exe (Pocket PC). It is first necessary to install the readers onto the devices. Once the readers are installed onto each device, you can then sync the database files onto each and every device that you sync.

Palm OS users - after you select TOOLS--> Reinstall Readers, you will be prompted to select a user name. Please select the username that matches the one found on your handheld device. You will then need to HotSync your device. Once the readers are installed, HotSync again to transfer the remaining databases.

OR you can reinstall the readers manually. To find the readers that have been downloaded with Lexi-Connect, you can click on TOOLS/OPTIONS within the Lexi-Connect application. Under the default tab (Program), you will find a File Location. This is the path on your computer where you will locate the readers that have been downloaded. Simply navigate to this location and find the readers denoted above. Once you have located the readers you may want to copy and paste them to your desktop for easy recovery. You will then double click on the reader files and sync them onto the device. Once the reader(s) appear on the device, then simply sync again with Lexi-Connect running and the database files will then be transferred onto the handheld. You can repeat this for each and every device.
