My Device ID is 00000000 (all 0s)

A device ID of all zeroes is invalid and typically indicates a beaming of the reader, improper backup of the reader or the reader has been corrupted. Please Note: If you are using an Audiovox 6600 or 6700 device, click here.

To fix this issue, simply install a new LexiComRreader.prc file:

1. If you are a Lexi-Connect user, open Lexi-Connect. Click on Tools > Reinstall Readers. Select your HotSync Username and click OK. Perform a HotSync.

If you are a manual downloader, please follow the steps below.

2. Please click on LexiCompReader.prc to sign in and download the new reader.
3. Click on Save within the File Download Box.
4. Save this file to your Desktop and select Save.
5. Once the file download is complete, locate the icon and double click LexiCompReader.prc on your Desktop
6. A Confirm Add box may come up. Simply click OK
7. The LexiCompReader.prc will be placed in the Quick Install or Install Tool. Now close your Install Tool and HotSync your device.

Once entering the software, your Device ID should return as a valid 8-digit alphanumeric ID. If you are prompted for a license key, open up Lexi-Connect and HotSync your device or visit http://www.lexi.com/register. You can also view your license keys by visiting http://www.lexi.com/keys.

Your device id may also return all zeroes if you do not have a HotSync user name associated with your device. When you sync your device, you should be prompted to enter a username on your device, by entering a user name, then you should return a valid device id.

For AudioVox 6600 or 6700 Users

Recently, a problem has been identified and resolved regarding some of the Audiovox Smartphones wherein the software would not properly register when using Lexi-CONNCET. This appears to be a device specific instance, only occurring on these AudioVox devices and is easliy remedied, though we will need to also correct the files on your computer before the auto-registeration process can happen. The steps outlined below will guide you through this process.

I. Remove files from Computer:
1. Open My Computer from your desktop or Start Menu
2. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\LexiConnect
*username on this computer*
3. Delete the CEIDFILE.TXT file from this folder
4. Open the WINCE folder and delete:
LexiCompInteractCEReader.exe
LexiCompReader.exe
5. Close My Computer

II. Remove files from PDA:
1. Tap on START>SETTINGS>SYSTEM>REMOVE PROGRAMS
2. Tap and hold the on Lexi-Comp Reader and tap REMOVE and tap YES when asked if you are sure you wish to delete this folder.
3. Tap and hold the on Lexi-Comp Lexi-Interact Reader and tap REMOVE and tap YES when asked if you are sure you wish to delete this folder.
4. Please SOFT reset your device. If you are unsure on how to perform a soft reset, please consult the ownser's manaul.

III. Reinstall Software:
1. Connect your PDA to your computer.
2. Login to Lexi-Connect.
3. Place check marks next to your databases.
4. Click on TOOLS>REINSTALL READERS
a. Two small files will prompt you to install.
b. Click INSTALL on the first window.
c. On your PDA, select where to install your software and tap OK.
5. Once the readers have been reinstalled, your software should automatically register with the proper device ID.
