Palm OS Installation via Lexi-Connect
Palm OS® Software Download, Installation, and Device Registration Instructions via Lexi-CONNECT***Prerequisites*** Lexi-Comp ON-HAND software for Palm requires Palm Desktop. If you do not have Palm Desktop installed on your computer, please visit: http://www.palm.com to install this application. Note: Palm Desktop is NOT compatible with Windows Vista 64-bit or Windows 7 64-bit. The Lexi-Comp ON-HAND software for Palm requires Lexi-CONNECT to complete the installation. You will need to install Lexi-CONNECT on your computer before following the steps below. Lexi-CONNECT will be used to download and install your Lexi-Comp software onto your device. The application may be installed using the following link: http://connect.lexi.com/dbupdate/dbupdate.jnlp To ensure that your device meets compatibility requirements, please visit: http://webstore.lexi.com/popups/compatibility/popup.html. ***Installation and Activation*** Verify HotSync Username - From your PDA's main screen, tap on the HOTSYNC icon but do NOT sync.
- A username should be displayed in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Note the username that is listed.
Note: If a username is not displayed, you may need to perform an initial HotSync on your PDA. Select HotSync Username in Lexi-CONNECT - Connect your PDA to your computer and login to Lexi-CONNECT.
- If you are not using a memory card with your PDA, click on TOOLS > OPTIONS > PALM OS and remove the check mark next to 'Use Expansion Card'.
- Place check marks next to the databases you wish to install.
- Click on TOOLS > REINSTALL READERS, select the appropriate HotSync username, and click OK.
- Once the readers have been downloaded, please click DOWNLOAD NOW to download any available updates.
- After all of the downloads are complete, please perform TWO consecutive HotSyncs.
- When the second sync is complete, your software will be installed, registered, and ready to use.
***Updating*** - Connect your PDA to your computer and login to Lexi-CONNECT.
