Dr Tomsik received her bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the Albany College of Pharmacy and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia. She completed a one-year residency at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City and went on to work at Hahnemann University Hospital for 2 years in the field of nutrition. She continued her work at Louis Stokes Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cleveland for 12 years. Her areas of practice included intensive care, coronary care, nutrition support, and anticoagulation. She was actively involved in residency training and was in charge of the pharmacy residency program for many years. She held faculty appointments from Case Western Reserve University, College of Medicine and The University of Toledo, College of Pharmacy. She has been a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist since 1999.
Dr Tomsik has been with Lexi-Comp, Inc. since 1999. She is actively involved in enhancing Lexi-Comp’s database with a focus in the area of poisonings. She is currently the manager of the adverse drug reaction section within the content division at Lexi-Comp.
Dr Tomsik is a member of the Ohio College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
