Dwight K. Oxley, MD
Dr Oxley received his MD degree from the University of
Kansas and took his Anatomic Pathology residency at that institution; his
Clinical Pathology residency was at the U.S. Naval Hospital, St Albans, New
York. He took a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. He
is the Medical Director of Pathology at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas,
a position which he has held since 1988. Prior to 1988 he was a community
pathologist in Kansas City, Missouri (St Joseph Hospital) and, before that in
Rancho Mirage, California (Eisenhower Medical Center).
Dr Oxley is a Trustee of the American Board of Pathology
and served as President of the Board in 1999. He is a member of the Executive
Committee of the American Board of Medical Specialties. He has served on the
editorial boards of the American Journal of Clinical
Pathology, the Archives of Pathology and
Laboratory Medicine, and Clinica Chimica
Acta. While practicing in Kansas City he was active in the teaching
of the sophomore pathology course at the University of Kansas, and he has an
appointment as a Clinical Professor of Pathology at that institution.
He is a community pathologist with a major interest in
clinical pathology, particularly the clinical relevance of laboratory test
results. He is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists and the American
Society of Clinical Pathologists. He is a member of the American Pathology
Foundation, the American Association for the History of Medicine, the Kansas
Society of Pathologists, the American Medical Association, the Kansas Medical
Society, and the Medical Society of Sedgwick County.
