Dr Newland is a Professor in the Department of Stomatology and Head of the Division of Oral
and Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Dental
Branch. Dr Newland has been a dental educator for more than 20 years. He is a Fellow in the
American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Diplomate of the American Board of
Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Dr Newland graduated from the University of Texas in 1966
and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Texas Health
Science Center at Houston, Dental Branch in 1970. He completed an Advanced Education
Program in Oral Pathology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at
Houston, Dental Branch and received a Master of Science Degree in Oral Pathology in
1978. Dr Newland also completed a fellowship in Oral Pathology at the MD Anderson
Cancer Center. He has more than 100 publications on a variety of topics related to
his specialty, including benign and malignant oral tumors, oral manifestations of
AIDS, oral manifestations of systemic diseases, and the diagnosis and treatment of
oral soft tissue diseases. Dr Newland has presented more than 100 continuing
education seminars to dental and medical professionals. He also maintains an active
private practice where he manages patients with oral soft tissue diseases. |
