Michael A. Sullivan is a man of many talents, skills, and interests. His love for dentistry began at an early age as he watched his father, David M. Sullivan, DDS, MS, share his passion for the profession. Mike’s love for and dedication to organized dentistry later grew through his relationship with his wife’s grandfather, Jack W. Gottschalk, DDS.

Mike obtained his undergraduate training in biochemistry from the College of Charleston in South Carolina while supplementing his education with courses at the National University of Ireland at Galway and Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He matriculated at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in the Autumn of 2004 and will graduate, along with his peers, on June 8, 2008 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery.

His particular area of interest is oral and maxillofacial surgery, which affords him the opportunity to make use of his surgical skills as well as his comprehensive medical and dental education. Throughout his time as a student, Mike has completed many extracurricular externships under world-renowned surgeons including Dr. Likith V. Reddy, DDS, MD at the University of Cincinnati, and Dr. G.E. Ghali, DDS, MD, of Louisiana State University of Shreveport.

As a student, Michael has held a multitude of leadership roles:

• President of the Student Government Association
• President and Co-founder of the Dental Entrepreneurs Society
• The Ohio State University Student Colgate Representative and Liaison
• Interprofessional Committee Student Representative and Senator

His guidance, dedication, and commitment to his peers and the college will leave a lasting impression.

Michael’s natural talent for teaching, putting people at ease, and inspiring confidence in others lends itself perfectly to the profession of dentistry. His peers value his professional opinion and often seek his personal advice. His eagerness to help others along with his problem-solving skills make him an invaluable asset to the field.

Outside the world of dentistry, Michael enoys spending time with his wife, Carol and daughter Ellie, hiking, skiing, golfing, and traveling. One of his greatest joys is driving his truck. Michael is a man of honesty, integrity, kindness, and love. He is a loving father, devoted son, committed husband, and an esteemed clinician.
